Until recently, for many elderly, there was no middle road between living independently and institutional care. Today, Adult Day Health enables adults to obtain needed quality day healthcare, while remaining socially active and involved in the community, continuing to live in their own homes. We help elderly participants or those with physical limitations maintain maximum independence.
Specialized Adult Day Health at Brandon Woods of New Bedford
Taking care of loved ones with Alzheimer's disease can be a challenging task for even the most dedicated caregivers. Brandon Woods of New Bedford offers an Adult Day Health Center staffed with individuals who are highly trained to care for the unique needs of people with dementia specific illnesses. This program allows people with some form of physical or psychological impairment to continue to live at home and remain active in their community. In our friendly, caring environment, our participants enjoy games, activities, outings, and birthdays and holiday celebrations. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided to accommodate all dietary requirements. Most importantly, our participants enjoy being out and socializing with others. Our Center allows family caregivers free time to work, shop, or just enjoy a few hours of rest. A caregiver can be away from a loved one with the knowledge that they are in a safe, homelike environment and are being well cared for in their absence.

The Brandon Woods Adult Day Health Center provides a stimulating, carefully supervised environment which is structured to meet the unique needs of older adults with Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias. Social interaction with new friends contributes to a sense of well-being. The group setting promotes feelings of anticipation and achievement. We offer a full schedule of activities chosen to ensure our participant's highest level of functioning, such as: exercise, reminiscence, basic word games, bowling, ring toss, knitting, crocheting, videos, and lots of music and fun!
