Assisted Living Week at Blaire House

We celebrated throughout the week (September 10 thru September 16, 2006) to this year’s theme, Hearts in Harmony. “This year’s NALW theme was selected to recognize the shared desire of employees, residents, residents’ relatives and friends to have care delivered in a loving manner that respects residents’ preferences and maintains their independence.” - ncal.org

To celebrate assisted living week, Blaire House honored staff and residents, starting with grandparent’s day. A sumptuous brunch was prepared by our culinary experts and served to our residents and their families.

During the week we held different activities each day; international food day, an ice cream social, and hosted a wellness clinic sponsored by the visiting nurses of greater Lowell. This clinic was open to our staff, residents, families and the general public.

The picture above captures the moment of crowning our housekeeper as employee of the month. The staff was given t-shirts, buttons and certificates of appreciation to commemorate the week. Everyone enjoyed a fun week and we all look forward to next year’s actvities.

The Taste of the Merrimack Valley

Blaire House annually holds "The Taste of the Merrimack Valley" which brings together a variety of restaurants in the Merrimack Valley for a night of tasting their specialties in order to raise funds for various local senior charitys. This year we were pleased to donate the proceeds of this event to Saints Medical Center of Lowell, Massachusetts. After participants purchase their “dinner” ticket, it’s on to samplings of the best cuisine the Merrimack Valley has to offer. This event is well attended and enjoyed by many.

Blaire House presents Saints Medical Center with an $8,000.00 check from the proceeds of "The Taste of the Merrimack Valley 2007 event".
