November 6, 2008 - West Side House Honors Their Veteran Residents
West Side House honored their veteran residents with a patriotic ceremony. The day kicked off in the morning with an educational seminar held at the U. S. Presidential Museum for Nurse Case Managers and Social Workers from V.A. Hospitals throughout New England as well as community partners. The celebration continued with a grand event at West Side House later in the day. This year our Vietnam veteran residents were honored. The Massachusetts 54th Color Guard; Senator Elect Michael Moore, 2nd Worcester District; Phillip Madaio, President of the Worcester Vietnam Memorial; and Retired Marine Captain James Larkin helped honor our residents. Captian Larkin awarded over 25 Vietnam veteran residents with Vietnam National Defense and Service medals. After the medal ceremony, the residents enjoyed wonderful culinary delights and listened to music from the Vietnam war era.
